
Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone
According to the Quang Tri Economic Zone Authority, in the northern part of Quang Tri, 6 medium-term public investment projects have been carried over from 2024 with a total capital of VND 533.063 billion.
In 2025, new capital allocation for this area reaches over VND 85 billion, focusing on essential infrastructure items.
In the first six months of 2025, disbursement reached VND 19.5 billion. By the end of the year, it is expected that 100% of the allocated capital plan will be disbursed.
Meanwhile, in southern Quang Tri, 3 projects continued from 2024 are being implemented, and basic construction debt repayment is being made for 4 completed projects.
In 2025, the total investment capital for 2 ongoing projects is nearly VND 38 billion. Of this, newly allocated capital is nearly VND 36.3 billion, with the remainder being carried over from the previous year. By the end of June, the disbursement rate reached nearly VND 5.4 billion, equivalent to 14.15% of the plan.
In addition, more than VND 464 million has been allocated to settle post-finalization debts for completed projects, such as: infrastructure in Lao Bao Economic Zone, Tan Thanh Industrial Park (phase 2), and Le Hong Phong residential area...
Moreover, the Economic Zone Authority is advising on investment policies for several key projects, including: a fishing boat anchorage area at Hon La Bay with a projected total capital of VND 35 billion; upgrading the road to Hon La Port and constructing a wastewater treatment plant in the Northwest Dong Hoi Industrial Park, North Dong Hoi.
These projects are expected to contribute to industrial development, logistics, and sustainable environmental protection in coastal areas.
On July 18, Quang Tri Province’s Vice Chairman Le Duc Tien chaired a meeting with the Economic Zone Authority and relevant departments to review the progress of public investment projects and discuss adjustments to the boundaries and the general planning of the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone.
According to the report, the province currently has two major economic zones: Cha Lo Border Gate Economic Zone and the Lao Bao Special Trade Economic Zone; along with coastal economic zones such as Hon La and Southeast Quang Tri.
In total, there are 15 industrial parks with a detailed planning scale of around 3,500 hectares. So far, Quang Tri Province has attracted 396 investment projects in economic and industrial zones, of which 223 projects have officially come into operation.
Notably, the boundary adjustment of the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone is being carried out in an expansion direction, adding 2,350 hectares, bringing the total area to 26,142 hectares. The adjustment area includes newly merged communes such as Dien Sanh, Hai Lang, Cua Viet, and Gio Linh.
Specifically, about 1,220 hectares are added along National Highway 15D and the North–South Expressway corridor; the area reserved for Quang Tri Airport and the associated industrial–logistics complex accounts for around 1,130 hectares.
