Logistics plays a vital role in supporting, connecting, and promoting economic and social development, contributing to enhancing

competitiveness and being a high-value-added service industry. In recent years and the foreseeable future, the global maritime

transportation trend, especially for routes with large cargo volumes from Asia to Europe and the Americas, often involves the

operation of large container vessels. Given the projected increase in cargo transportation, Vietnam is poised to become a crucial

component of this supply chain.

Recognizing the importance of providing support to businesses with a holistic perspective, addressing challenges, and fostering

connections, the European and American Market Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with relevant

entities, organized the "Development of the Vietnamese Logistics Industry with Europe and America" forum on December 17, 2021,

in Hanoi. The program was supported by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited,

and the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation.

Currently, the Asia-Pacific region dominates the global logistics market, holding a significant market share. Factors such as increasing

trade in regional and international markets and the growing outsourcing of logistics services have boosted the growth of the Asia-Pacific

logistics market. Additionally, the scale of growth is attributed to the increasing import-export activities, high demand for logistics, and

urbanization processes. Vietnam has numerous opportunities to develop its logistics sector, thanks to signed trade agreements, logistics

-friendly policies, and the shifting focus of American and European countries towards Vietnam as an attractive destination due to political

stability and a skilled labor force. If Vietnam becomes a global cargo hub, not only its ports but also its logistics sector will experience

significant growth.

Alongside the rapid growth of e-commerce, consumer habits are changing, shifting from traditional in-person purchases to online shopping.

Furthermore, the open and deeply integrated economy, with over $500 billion in annual imports and exports, and the substantial scale of road,

sea, air, and rail freight transportation, provide a fertile ground for logistics startups to explore opportunities.
