Remarkable Impression in the International Integration Process
On the morning of August 10th, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, the first International Logistics Exhibition of Vietnam - VILOG 2023 was inaugurated.
The exhibition is a focal event of the industry with an impressive scale spread over 5,500 square meters, showcasing 345 booths from 250 enterprises from 22 countries and territories. With active support from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the collaboration of the Vietnam Logistics Service Business Association (VLA) and the professional organizer - VINEXAD Company, VILOG 2023 promises to be the premier event in the industry.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - stated that the "International Logistics Exhibition of Vietnam 2023" is organized to implement the mission set by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 221/QD-TTg dated February 22, 2021, amending and supplementing Decision No. 200/QD-TTg dated February 14, 2017, approving the Action Plan to enhance the competitiveness and development of Vietnam's logistics services until 2025.
According to Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Vietnam's first international logistics exhibition with a large scale is a noteworthy milestone in the country's international integration process in the logistics service sector. This is an essential activity to promote, connect, and introduce the industry to the world; a significant opportunity for domestic and international logistics service enterprises, as well as the community of investors, cargo owners, and other related parties, to showcase products, exchange ideas, collaborate, advise, and choose solutions to optimize their logistics processes.
Especially, this year's exhibition is co-organized with the Cross-border E-commerce Exhibition in Vietnam (CBEE) - expected to create opportunities to boost connectivity and collaboration among enterprises in the industry, contributing to the growth of e-commerce in general and logistics serving e-commerce in particular.
Trade Connectivity Opportunity
Logistics is identified as a vital service industry in the overall structure of the national economy, playing a supporting and connecting role in the economic and social development of the whole country and each locality, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the economy.
In recent years, the Vietnamese logistics sector has made significant strides with an average growth rate of 14 - 16% per year, and a scale of 40 - 42 billion USD per year. The number of logistics service companies and the quality of their services are increasing, making a substantial contribution to achieving the highest level of import and export turnover ever, reaching 732.5 billion USD in 2022. This affirms Vietnam's important position on the international trade map. This is the result of the striving efforts of logistics service companies, the government in creating a business environment, enhancing the competitiveness of companies in the economy in general, and the logistics service sector in particular, as well as the efforts to improve from the companies themselves.
However, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai pointed out that the Vietnamese logistics sector still has weaknesses such as high logistics costs; a lack of connection between logistics service companies and with manufacturing, business, import-export enterprises; the scale and financial capacity of Vietnamese logistics companies are still weak, and the international market penetration is still insignificant...
Therefore, this exhibition aims to become a platform to gather logistics service companies, government departments, training and research institutions, and related parties to share insights, showcase trends, and provide the latest updates in the field of logistics.
The exciting highlight of VILOG 2023 revolves around breakthrough applications in logistics technology. This unique event provides visitors with a rich experience, allowing them to access the latest advancements in logistics technology and equipping companies with tools to revolutionize cargo management and flow. By harnessing technology, transportation capabilities can be enhanced, while also aiding in predicting market demand and improving the overall customer experience.
Notably, in this first-ever organized event, VILOG 2023 also hosts a series of specialized workshops and discussions. Focusing on pressing issues and the latest trends, from IoT smart technology to customs regulations, competitive import-export capacity, cross-border e-commerce, workforce training, or breakthrough Buy-Ship-Pay models in agricultural exports… The workshops and discussions led by reputable experts from relevant associations and government agencies will offer an opportunity to deeply understand the constantly evolving and developing logistics industry.
VILOG 2023 introduces the most advanced products, services, and technologies in the logistics industry, with main categories including: Transportation - Delivery; Warehousing - Cold Chain; Equipment - Packaging Technology; Logistics Technology Applications; Other Support Services.
The exhibition will run until August 12, 2023, and is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors for exploration and transactions.
